The annual event E—X—S—I, Encounter Expressions between Sound and Image, arises from the collective reflection, by academics, creators, curators and trainees, on the articulation between practice and contemporary research in the different fields of sound and image.

E—X—S—I is organized by the teachers and students of ISMAI’s Multimedia Art Degree.

The word encounter is central to the concept of the event, as it reflects the confluence, in an informal dialogue, of the means of creation, teaching, exhibition, production and distribution, of a great diversity of sound and visual content, expressed in the most varied results, from interactive design, to short films, installations or audiovisual performances, without circumscription, instead, permanent exploration.

E—X—S—I is an annual, one-day event that runs from March to April, since 2016, open to all those interested in the various themes.

In the continuation of last year, this year E—X—S—I meets Vivarium Festival, crossing the times when both take place, addressing themes transversal to the two events. For the third year, Maus Hábitos’s show room will be specially prepared to receive the presentations that make up the E—X—S—I of 2020.
